Joy Initiatives Uganda (Joyi Uganda) is a woman-led non-profit organization legally registered with the National NGO Board. Reg. no. 10709. Until November 2015, the Joyi Uganda was formerly known as Joint Efforts for Youth Uganda (JOY-Uganda), but organization changed name to effectively align aims and objectives.
The organization was established in 2008, after her founders witnessed suffering among young persons and women due to poverty, gender inequalities and ignorance. The organization was first registered as a CBO with Mpigi District Local Government before upgrading to National NGO status. Joyi Uganda aims at improving the live of children, youth and women in the predominantly rural communities dependable on agriculture where majority of her beneficiaries live on less than one dollar per day.
